Question - Considering 2002 Ecsb 4x4 Purchase

Newbie here, looking at a 2002 Silverado ECSB 4x4 (not Z71). I need the tow/haul feature, but seller says the light on the dash doesn't come on when the button is pressed. More likely the switch, dash light, or something else (e.g. controller) that's not working? Trying to estimate repair cost.

Possibly a wiring issue. The switch, PCM, BCM and wiring are all that's involved. As long as their aren't any issues w/ the transmission it should be relatively easy to fix depending on your mechanical abilities of course.

wire that hooks to the button probably got pinched and severed along the steering column...common and easy to fix, the wire is orange if i remeber right
