07 Tahoe Non Nav I Want To Install Factory Nav

Ok guys I have an 07 Tahoe LTZ loaded minus NAV with Bose.

I am thinking about purchasing a NAV unit out of an 09 Yukon Comes with the nav dvd and brand new antenna. Will fit all GM vehicles 2007 - present. The part number is 15940103. unit came out of a BOSE system

What will I need to do to get it to work in my Tahoe?

Will all my factory harnesses just plug right into the new unit?

The dealer mentioned something about a 50-100 charge for GM to create a new number so that it will work in my Tahoe.

Plus 2-3 hours Labor for install about $250total to get it working (but they were not 100% sure it would work?)

Local Stereo shop said 50-100 to remove and install new unit. Then I would have to take it to the dealer to have it coded for my VIN.

Any help or insight would be great!!!!!!! My dealer didn't seem to be to sure of the answers.

That information is pretty much all you need to know. That, and the fact that you're dealing with morons if your dealer didn't know how to approach this very common and easy to perform swap.

We just did an instal here on site, no problems. The only thing I will point out with a new unit that doesn't get programed, when you turn the unit on it says "DELPHI" instead of "CHEVY" or whatever the programmed unit says. Other than that, works great! We did one into a Saturn Outlook a while back and the person told us the screen eventualy started saying "SATURN" when he turned it on, but I don't see why it would, and never was able to see it myself.

We just did an instal here on site, no problems. The only thing I will point out with a new unit that doesn't get programed, when you turn the unit on it says "DELPHI" instead of "CHEVY" or whatever the programmed unit says. can't wait for the parts to get here.. (I think I am going to order up a VSS harness as well!)

I ordered one myself from them too. It's supposed to be delivered today according to UPS tracking. I paid at least $100.00 extra as I got it from ebay before I read about them here. I hope everything goes OK, I'm a little worried as the unit they sold me for my Silverado non-bose is listed again for bose although after I ordered it I got a call from them as they wanted to make sure that I know it's a non-bose. The unit number is 20792734 and if you look at their website, it's say it's for a silverado non-bose but if you look on ebay there's several of them with the same number listed as bose. I guess I'll know soon enough. Also, there's another unit number 20792737 listed as non-bose but has red illumination instead of blue. So, I hope the one I'm getting has blue light not red. I'll keep everyone updated when I get it.

If there are any problems with the unit, we will work with you until it is corrected. We installed two this morning without issue. I did notice one thing, you list your vehicle as being a 2005 Chevy Silverado. I hope that's not the vehicle you're trying to put this into? These will only fit the new body style (GMT 900's). If you bought it for a 2005, DO NOT INSTAL, it will not work.

Just curious, do you guys have a Tech2 or MDI at your facility to program/unlock these NAV units? If so I might want to stop out and see if you can figure out what's up with the 2010 NAV unit I installed in my '08. I had it "programmed" by Sawyer's Chevy up in DeWitt, but they weren't able to get it working right, and I haven't either since it was unlocked.

Can't help you with the tech 2. Did you buy a new unit or a used? PM me the problem you are having, I may be able to point you in the right direction.
