Customer,

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is truly another step in the evolution of the automobile, but with one amazing twist — it creates its own electricity — letting you live your life nonstop — for hundreds of miles at a time. There is a lot of buzz about the Volt, so here are a few things to think about until the vehicles start arriving in select dealerships.

Volt runs on a pure electric charge for up to 40 miles(1) — gas and tailpipe emissions free

Once the initial electric charge is depleted, a small gas generator will kick in to seamlessly create enough electricity to continue to power the car for hundreds of miles

I'm really looking forward to this car coming out,I just hope they don't over-price it,If they price it in the mid-to-high 30's it ain't ever gonna' make it!

When do they hit the show rooms anyway? I'd love to take one out for a drive just to see how they compare.

 They haven't told us dealers a thing about that yet,I think they're hoping for next year sometime.

end of the year theyre supposed to hit showrooms, price hasnt been confirmed yet, but expect mid thirties at least. there will only be 10,000 in the first year, and then 30,000 the year after. even at $40k demand will outstrip supply.

my fiancee wants one.

I'll bet it will be in the high $30's easy. It will not be in the reach of the average commuter, which is sad since that is the target market I would think. If it is in the low $30's I will be surprised.

Regardless of when they hit the market, they're limited production and limited to certain markets initially. The first year they're only building 10,000 of them which will ship to Texas, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Michigan, and Washington, D.C.

if they want them to take hold, they best make them within reach of the average broke american...i myself will not own one ever, the repair costs would be rape once the warranty is gone and i drive easily more then its range on a daily basis

As long as gas prices stay in the $2.50-$3.00 a gallon range, there won't be much demand for the hybrids and electrics.

DUH!

thats why the govt created the BP oil spill! now they have reason/motivation to curtail future oil drilling & exploration, thereby reducing supply and driving up cost per gallon, which in turn will sell more Volts!

..... this is a JOKE.... please dont reply seriously to this post... im hoping someone gets a chuckle, however its sad that i even have to put this disclaimer here but im sure some tight wads will take it seriously

Don't you think that Saudi and the rest are watching this closely?

And keeping prices stable. Just a thought.
