I was just wondering if anyone knew how i would go on about to take off my on star antenna on my 08 sierra?

not only is that antenna the OnStar Antenna, its also the XM Antenna for the Satellite Radio. what if Someone wants XM in the Truck? or if someone wants the OnStar?

i've been getting lots of rock chips on top and i just wanted to take it off so i can repaint the roof properly.

I believe you'll have to pull down the headliner to get to the screws and the cable that goes to the antenna.

Oh, we thought you were removing the Antenna because you did not want the OnStar or the XM! After you repaint the roof, see if they make a Chip Shield like what's on the Bed!

I upgraded to XM on my 2007, and had to remove the antenna. You need to drop the front of your roof panel. If I recall, it has two or three bolts, that you need to remove the nuts. I think the nuts had those little wings, so if you over tighten, the wings spread, so you don't pull the sheet metal in.
