Removed Suspension Blocks, Need New U-bolts?

2010 Sierra SLE crewcab

Ok, I wanted my ride to be more level without having to put shackles on, so I took the blocks off the rear, it seemed to level it out nicely. But the U-bolts, I'm sort of scared to run them for a long time. I tightened them up as far as they could go, and they only have one or two threads left before they bottom out. Will these be ok as is, or should I find some with more threads....or can I use thick washers?? Please help me out.

if you get u bolts from a 04 Silverado ss they will be shorter or at least have the threads further up... That s what I did on my NBS 07 when I took the blocks out. You can order them from the dealer, just make sure they are for the SS model.

could get shorter U-bolts, or some grade-8 washers to act as a small spacer, wouldn't go more than 1/4" stacked. that should buy you plenty of room
