Recently my truck 2010 GMT900 RCSB started making this creaking sound from what seems like the front passenger side, it seems to do it more when turning, driving slow, it was noticed yesterday and is progressively worse today, went to the dealer but being it's saturday they don't have tons of people working to look at it so it goes in monday so the service manager can take a test run and see what he thinks, I wanted to see if anyone here could enlighten me on what it is so when I go in I can give them my opinion and then wait on theres, it only has 1000 miles on it and I bought it 4 months ago.

could be a bunch of different things. i'd bet that its a body mount.

with your truck off and in park, can use rock the truck back and forth (by trying to roll the passenger front tire) and replicate the noise?

Yea, I have the brackets forwards so the bars stick out further rather then inward bringing the bars closer to the truck.

+1 for the body mount. do you have step bars on your truck?

If the bracket is rubbing on a frame component (like a "cross-tab" brace)... it will squeak when flexed. May want to check before a dealer trip, since it wouldn't be a warranty item if you installed it (especially if it isn't OEM steps).

not sure if your noise is the same as mine but... my weatherstripping around the doors squeak when going slow hitting little bumps or something. i dont know maybe yours is different

GM makes a weatherstrip lube. i went to buy some but a little tiny bottle costs about $70. i know the parts manager so i just borrowed the dealers bottle. you have to clean the weather strips with alcohol then apply the lube let sit for an hour with doors open. i did it but it didnt make a difference

thats fine, just tighten the body bolts down. when your truck flexes the step bars move and cause the creaking. mine is doing it now as we speak
