Gm Recall Time!

General Motors is recalling nearly 250,000 crossover vehicles worldwide to inspect second-row seat belts that could be damaged and not latch. GM said the recall affects 2009-2010 models of the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook. Most of the recalled vehicles are in the United States but some are also in Canada, Mexico and elsewhere.

GM said the seat belt buckle could be damaged when the seat back is returned to an upright position. That could make the buckle appear to latch when it isn't. The automaker said it does not know of any cases where the second-row seat belts failed to perform properly in a crash.

Lately? Recalls have been around since a lawyer bought his first car. I used to make good money doing the recall/campaign fixes on the early Volares and Aspens, and that was 30 years ago.

It just goes to show that a mechanical device can go through alot of Q&A and testing however there will still be things that come up later on that no one suspected. Does not matter how much $$$ invested.

The reason is the media. With all the attention Toyota got when they had their fiasco, automakers are being more cautious and a lot more public about their recalls. The issue with the Lambdas is pretty small, but kudos to GM for being proactive about it and not hiding it (Ala Toyota)

Yep, life would be amazing if you knew when every problem was going to arise. What a life that would be.

That would be one sweet deal right there.

Yea I agree. Id rather have them put it out in the open then try to hide it.

I'm glad to see that GM takes responsibility for issues when they arise...rather than sweeping them under the rug and hoping they go away (Ford...).
