is it true that if i change my deck on car it will remove my remote start and other features of my car? I just heard this from a friend and im not sure if its true. i bought all my sound system already and ready to install but i want to verify this first. thank you!!

The warning chimes and the turn signals play through the left speaker. The Onstar also plays through the front speakers. Unless you add an adapter (such as PAC OS-4) you'll lose that functionality. XM will also be lost unless you have the steering wheel controls and the PAC OS-4 (From what I've been told - I don't have the steering wheel controls so for now I've lost XM - but didn't have a subscription, anyway) Volume for the Onstar is also controlled through the steering wheel controls, too. Mine is loud enough so I don't need it. However, the PAC OS-4 allows you to add a button to change the Onstar volume to 7 different levels if you want to add it.

so this wont affect my remote start?

 

Not a clue. Someone else will have to answer that one. I don't see why it would but I don't know.
