Cheap Plastic Interior

I just picked up a 2010 SLT with All Terrain (extended cab) and am very happy so far. Power (5.3L) is good and ride quality is nice as well, but the interior sort of irks me a bit. I came from a 2005 Tacoma and the interior of that vehicle had its cheap plastic components, but overall, I would say it looked considerably better mostly due to things like two-tone door panels and softer plastic. On the other hand the Sierra's leather seats and center console far out do what the Tacoma had to offer.

I really like the truck so far, but for a $40K+ vehicle I think they could have done a better job on the interior. Just looking at the door panel alone is like one giant hunk of plastic. Same with the dash area. I'll quit bitching now and go drive my new truck

The tan interior has black with it and sometimes brown. These door panels are a huge improvement to me. The old ones were tough to clean and had fabric on them.

I don't mind mine. Seems nice to me, and well...its a truck. You test drove the truck, right? You bought the truck, right? If you didn't like the interior, you should of looked elsewhere. I guess I just don't see the point in complaining/ranting about something AFTER you made the purchase. Either way, stop your bitching and drive it!:cool:

Congrats on the SLT! Gotta say even with the plastic I love the interior of GM's new full size truck+SUV line and the plastic is easy to clean when it gets dirty.

When I bought my 02 Silverado, the interior was all one color and I was amazed at how my friends 1979 Silverado (which was the top of the line back then) looked so much nicer than my new truck.

I have an 09 now and it is mostly gray, except there are some polished metal (probably plastic) trims around the interior which makes it look a little upscale. I like how the gauges have the chrome rings around them too.

Doors are all gray, except the door handle has the polished metal trim look on them and also where all the power controls are. The back doors are the same and match nice.

well yeah I agree some don't look so great and they could do better. But I don't think plastic is the issue. I mean if it wasn't plastic what would it be? Cloth is not good. Painted metal or wood is just unheard of...

Congrats on the All Terrain. Love those trucks... And I rather like the interiors of the trucks.
