GM Recalling 20,000 Cadillacs Over Glove Compartment Box. The AP (9/21, Thomas) reports, "General Motors said Monday it was recalling more than 20,000 Cadillac CTS and CTS-V vehicles to replace a glove compartment box that could lead to leg injuries in a crash." After conducting tests, "the government found that a front seat passenger not wearing a seat belt could strike the glove box door and sustain leg injuries in a crash. GM said all motorists should wear seat belts."

DUH! :D

Next thing they will be recalling windshields because passengers can go through them if not wearing seatbelts :D

Big brother is watching out for you.

I think they need another recall because yesterday I was walking around the back of my truck and I bumped my shins on the trailer hitch ball. May need some big warning decal on the rear of each fender to warn you. LOL

Pennsylvania too

I got warned one time by a cop about it, he call it a "stinger" and could have given me a fine. They're doing that to cut down on the amount of damage someone gets from hitting it for insurance companies.

the illinois law got signed in over some higher up cracking his shin on one the was not in use. They don't seem to enforce it, and I leave mine in for days at a time.

My guess would be you have never walked into one that was hanging over the sidewalk at night... around here there is one guy that parks his truck with the back bumper over the sidewalk, and at night if you don't know it is there, you will cut your shin/knee up pretty good on the trailer hitch sticking out

What about those step bars can you have one of those?

I have had mine in in illinois quite often and never been stopped, maybe cause I have Indiana plates?

I have cracked my shin on mine a few times. Well worth it thought if it half way saves my rear end.
