Just finished putting a cherry bomb extreme muffler on my truck today. It is a 3" SI/SO muffler, fit right where the stock muffler came out with an extension, and using the stock tailpipe. I made a sound clip of stock and with the cherry bomb. Sorry i didnt get more revs with the cherry bomb, but i have a neighbor with 2 newborns, didnt need an angry neighbor coming over. Heres the clip. Let me know what you think.

drone?

Not much at all. The only time i get a little drone is if im going up a good hill pulling 2-2.5k rpm, anything higher and it goes away. Couldnt be happier for a $70 upgrade.

Sounds good. Not a bad price. I read that the Cherry Bombs flow really well. Where do you live, must have been cold there. We are still in the 90's here in NC and 70's at night. Can't wait for fall weather.

Thanks. Im in North NJ. The stock muffler video i took 2-3 weeks ago, we had a couple days that were in the 50-60s and real damp, where as today was in the mid 80s and humid. Some real strange weather. I too cant wait for fall, the change in season is nice.

hell yea dude im in the process of getting the cherrybomb extreme for my 01 Z71, how do you like it? is there bad drone? oh and were did order your CB extreme?

After driving around all day, im really digging the sound of the CB extreme. Drone is minimal, only have some around 2-2.5k rpm if im going up hill or giving er' hell, and its very minimal. Being easy on the gas there is no drone, and when your cruising on level ground cant even tell i installed a muffler. I got the muffler from Summit for $55, and also got 4' of 3" tubing for $16 (making up the difference from the old muffler/tailpipe and making a coupler to the inlet side, since chevy uses 2.75" tubing.)

I got mine on today but its just dumping under the bed of truck right now until i get 2 new small pipes with the right angle to dump in front of back tire... Until then this is extremely loud as of now... I think its just vibrating against the bed of the truck and amplifying itself :uhoh: Hopefully i can get to a muffler shop thats open tomorrow and get the right bend.

I know how that sounds lol. When i first got a muffler, i went with a single in dual 2.5" out CB extreme, with just turndowns. Aint the drone terrible? I drove for 30-45 mins afterwards and got a killer headache from the drone lol. So i switched out to a single in/single out for ease (using OEM tailpipe instead of going to a shop to get 2 made.)

    • 2020 2500 HD...I had some trouble getting the key into the ignition switch but went in fine after applying some extra effort. Since then, the door chimes when open when the key is out of the ignition. Also, when I lock the doors with the switch on the arm rest, the driver door locks but then unlocks. (I can lock everything fine with the fob) The message on the little screen displays the "Engine Hours"...kinda weird.   I'm guessing something happened to the ignition switch and it thinks the key is still in there. I unplugged the batteries for 20 minutes, no change. There are a number of videos on YouTube but nothing I can find that address this specific issue. Ideas appreciated, thank you.

    • Looking for help troubleshooting a metallic like front end rattle. Figured I’d see if anyone had thoughts before I schedule an appointment with the dealer.   The rattle is fairly loud and occurs primarily when the front driver side wheel hits a bump, even fairly minor road seams. Sometimes does it when the passenger hits a bump but I don’t believe when the rear hits. Rattle still occurs when foot is pressing brake peddle so I think that rules out the caliper rattle I’ve read about. I’ve also checked the running boards and they are tight.   Most noticeable at slow speeds.    Any insight is appreciated.
    • We try to make cruise the coast. It’s where our favorite casino is. I only want to spectate. Never took a car. Always had one to take. I belonged to a club once. Even when I used to drag raced. It was during test and tune. Probably because I’m not a night owl, party person.
    • We had a pretty big cars and coffee in Indy this past weekend.  Pretty much anything and everything was there.
