Hey!

I'm trying to install a sub/ 10' amp system into my truck keeping the factory stereo. I have the amp and sub/box all ready to go but wanted to see if anybody had any pointers or knew of any site offering some directions to help. I know im going to have to run a line out converter(any suggestions on a good one?), but other than that not really sure where to start. Please lemme know what you think.

I just did this. Put a sub box under the rear seat (2010 Ext cab) on the left side, added a mono amp for that, and a 4 channel amp for the other 4 speaker locations. I used Polk for amps and door speakers. Just used the stock 5.25 in the rear and the 6.5 component in the front. The shop used line out convertors on front and rear outputs from the stock head unit. Do not know the model of the line out adaptors, but they said they used the better ones to properly support all the factory stuff. Sounds great, and to anyone walking by, looks completely stock with the stock basic head unit in place. I used the MTX box for sub.

I am in your same situation. I am about get an re-Q from Streetwires to handle the line out signal. Maybe someone who has experience with the re-Q can comment.

Mind giving a ballpark of what they charged for install on that system? Sounds very nice.
