Tire Size

On my 04 burb.. it has 265 65X17.. i think thats what they are.. maybe 265 60X17

anyway- what size can i go to, to be wider but not taller... is there such a beast ?

its like 1 inch taller and almost an inch wider. 285/65-17

You sure its not a 265/70/17?

 

265/65 is commonly found on 18s.

285/70 would change the pickup a little and might decrease mileage a little too. Wider tires will have the same effect. It's an dded rolling resistance thing. If you don't go too much different, the difference in pickup.mileage won't be huge.

I you want greater width, but same height, then you must so with a smaller tire aspect ratio. Something like P275/65R17 or P285/60R17.
