Suburban Share Van Chassis?

Back in the day the vans and suburbans were closely related I think. Are they totally different platforms now? Were they always different?

Sub's & Blazers used a frame similiar to the pickups. The G vans used a unibody construction w/ a cradle supporting the engine & tranny. I was thru the Scarborough Ont' van plant in '84. I'm not sure about the current generation of full size vans.

 

I'm not sure what GM's "small" vans (after the Corvair vans) of the 60s/early 70s had for underpinnings.

both of my vans were unibody, 1991 and 1994. my dads 1996 gmc work van is unibody aswell. doubt gm put a full frame under them but ive been wrong before
