Speaker Over The Drivers Head In A Denali?

Hey guys. I just picked up an 01 Denali XL, and I noticed that there is a constant buzz/white noise coming from a small round speaker that is in the headliner directly over the drivers head. Is this specifically for the onstar system? Changes in the radio system do not effect this issue, except to drown it out when you turn up the volume.

That speaker, you're talking about is actually a fan I believe, but I forgot what it's used for. The onstar works through the radio speakers. The mic is somewhere else. EDIT: A quick search will show you this. Site.

it's not a speaker it is the auto HVAC temp sensor and yes there is a fan in there.. which is probably what is causing the buzzing sound, and I know there is TSB to replace it for that noise, my 2010 is now 800 miles and 1 month old and it has already been replaced.

 

 

 

the onstar mic is in the overhead console behind the little vent looking deal on the left side.

It's a common problem....went thru a couple in my '02 yukonXL.

It's called the auto climate control aspirator.
