Vibration In V4 Mode

I posted this in another section before noticing this section....I don't mean to be repetative, just seeking some answers.....anyway, here it is.

I am experiencing a pretty bad vibration in my 2011 Avalanche LTZ 4x4 when my AFM puts my truck into 4 cylinder mode. It's noticeable at most speeds but I would say more noticeable at low speeds when trying to maintain that constant speed. It really vibrates the truck badly. I can feel it in the gas pedal and seat mainly but it is noticeable in other areas as well. The truck drives great with non issues when in V8 mode. Is anyone else experiencing this issue with their active fuel management equipped vehicle? Is there a fix? This can't be normal!! GM techs please feel free to chime in.

Thanks

From what I remember reading, it sounds somewhat normal. The best thing would be a trip back to the dealer and let them look at it.

I dropped it at the dealer this morning. It cannot be normal as i had a 2010 Avalanche with exact same tranny, axle ratio, drivetrain, etc that did not present this issue. If it were normal then it should do it in every vehicle that has AFM.

I would be interested in what you find out on this. My tahoe has this at low speeds also. My 07 sierra didn't do this at all.

here is my latest update in another section...

UPDATE, 12/9/10...

I have a case number with GM's Technical Assitance and Brand Quality team. The brand quality team told me on the phone that what I am experiencing is "not normal". I am a little confused now....The dealer provided me with a print out of a bulletin stating it was normal...it's funny that the bulletin was dated 2/23/10 which was before my truck was ever built and does not include my 2011 vehicle year, but the Brand Quality team says its not normal. How can they all not be on the same page on these issues?? Anyway, Brand Quality will be calling my dealer today to discuss with them what can or can't be done to resolve the issue. I would be happy if they would just let me turn the AFM off with a tuner if they would put in writing it would not void my warranty so I can see if its any better. I would think this would be much easier for GM than going through all the motions of a potential buyback.??

Why is this a potential buy-back? Your problem seems to be the dealer who maybe doesn't have techs with the proper knowledge.

Mark, the GM Brand Quality team called back saying the vibration "is unfortunately normal". " GM is aware of customer concerns and we are working on a solution to make the vibration not normal". This could take, days, weeks, months, if ever. GM headquarters corporate office said my next step would be to seek buyback if they don't fix problem. This is why it's a potential buyback.

Thanks for the clarification. This is more in line with what I remember. It seems to me these trucks are too heavy for this system, unless everything is perfect.
