I've tried to search for this but did not find the answer. Will a 4" inlet outlet muffler work on a 2010 6.2L? The stock exhaust is 3.5" I believe? Or do I need to go with a 3" or 3.5" thank you for your time and help I need to fine this out pretty quick since I'm ordering one hopefully this evening.

I wouldn't go with a 4" since it is a 3.5" stock exhaust and most 4" would probably be more money and the size isn't needed. There is not a lot of 3.5" muffler choices out there but a lot more 3" you can always have the pipe expanded or get a 3"-3.5" adapter. The affter market systems use 3" pipe. The stock muffler is a offset in offset out and about 27" long If your just doing the muffler there will be custom work involved so be ready for it or have a shop lined up. I've searched the topic a lot and ended up buying a aero turbine 3535xl witch is 3.5" in and out. I have not had a chance since its been freezing out get it installed. A lot of people have just been cutting off there resonator in the back with great results on sound improvement. Over all the stock system flows very well.

Not sure I concurr with this recommendation to expand a 3" muffler.

The factory exhaust is 3.25 to 3.5" depending on where you look. If you add a muffler with 3" pipe, that will be the maximum size of the pipe inside the muffler, so you will essentially be adding a restriction by "expanding" a 3" pipe simply to fit

The 6.2 L92 has rectangle port heads capable of flowing 300cfm per intake port and feeding through a 2.16" valve. That is simply monstrous! A few years back we could barely port heads to flow as much as the stock L92/LS3/LS7 do right from bowtie hqts.

Why add a performance muffler that actually restricts the system?

Flowmaster and magnaflow both sell mufflers with a 3.5" inlet and outlet. Stop by a truck supply shop and you can pick up some 3.5" tubing to adapt the muffler.

BTW, I am using the stock muffler on my semi built 6.2 Escalade with great results.
