Exterior Emblem, Interior Swap?

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. I really like the new "Chevrolet" and "Tahoe" emblems that are on the side and rear of the truck. I think they look cleaner so I really want to take off my old ones and put on the ones from 2007+ I want to get them and make them Black and get a new bow-tie black and black wheels eventually. Let me know what you guys think or know if you debadged yours, I dont want to debagde it to find out there are going to be big holes around the new emblem... Also the plastic black piece on the doors, are they glued or bolted on? Can I replace it with a chrome(maybe black powder coated) or not lol.... The chrome one is a little skinnier, usually on the sierras/silverados.

-Also will the new factory stereo/GPS system in the new tahoe fit into mine with minor altering?

-And when I bought it with a DVD player in it, where it is placed is the storage compartment under the cassette player. I bought the ipod jack that goes into the cassette player. Little did I know they took the power from the cassette player to power the DVD... Easy way to make the power be able to go to both, at different times of course....

- Will the new tail lights on the 2007+ truck fit mine. It doesn't look like it will but I cant be for sure. I am sure someone did some mods, I would rather have tail lights like mine which are stock but they are tinted... I cant find them any where online, only LED ones where just tinted look good. Only other solutions I have seen is tinting them with window tint myself or spray(which I really dont want to do)

Thanks, any opinions will help...P.S. My rear defrost contact fell off the window, Kragen did not know how to fix it and I did not see any glue that said it has a High Temp tolerance... Any one else had this problem and know the solution?

 Thanks guys!

You should be able to change the badging with no problems (but the paint under your old emblems may be a little darker than the surrounding paint), but, other than that, it shouldn't be a problem.

But the other 2007+ parts won't fit your 2001.

Ok thanks. Now do you know if I can buy the emblems from a chevy dealership? Also do you happen to know if I can find those tinted factory tail lights or just tint them myself? Oh and when you say 2007 parts won't fit, are you referring to mlthe tail lights only or gps as well? Haha thanks I Love all the help on this site!

I don't think hardly any parts will fit from the new 2007 body style and up. Just going off memory from looking @ my dad's 2009 gmc vs my 2006 silvy and everything is completely different. Now can you make them fit? most likely but it all depends on how much work you want to do to get the stuff to fit :-D

Yea, I know it is different, but MAINLY what I want is the new badges, my tail lights but tinted, and factory GPS system in there.... The one the LTZ models have... I am sure as an option the LT can probably have it in it as well...

I would check ebay for the emblems if i were you, and for the lights i would just purchase the brake light tint spay paint, it would save you from putting a big dent in your wallet. Also, easy with the tint, it isn't very popular with the police!

Yea, I live in California so they are VERY strict... That is why I am kinda leaning towards Recons LED.. I would prefer not LED but those are more visible so I am not sure... I wouldnt tint TO dark, but yea... Also I looked on ebay and there are only a few :/ hopefully more ppl will debadge for me!!! haha

check out LMCtruck for the newer tahoe badges...... and i tinted my tails with VHT Nightshades and it worked great... you can make them barley tinted at all or very dark and it still lets a lot of light through

Thank you! How long did it take to tint them? A few hours?

Sand with high grit, paint with nightshades, then clear. Time depends on how meticulous you are, how thick your coats are, and how dark you want them.

Thank you!
