What does this virus do?  I got 3 of them this morning at my GM-Trucks mail account.  I did open all three mails, but when I noticed they didn't make sense I deleted them.  After that I did a Norton scan with the latest updates and didn't find any problems.  Anything in particular I should look for?

if your still on your computer its fine.  SUpposedly it goes in and destorys your harddrive.  Guy on edmunds mentioned that an antivirus software company recently moved to a level 4 warning with this one (level 5 is highest)

if you didn't d/l or open the included document then your fine.  Especially if you scanned your HD with norton.  ( i knew it was a virus so i purposly d/l it and before it was half done norton antivirus shut it down and told me it was a virus!!!)  norton is great stuff!!

I'm

running NT 4.0 Client so it sounds like I'm alright.  I've also checked the Registry and File System and seem to be okay.  I would check out your system BEFORE YOU SHUT DOWN because it sounds like the worm activates when you re-start.

I got a few yesterday. Unfortunatly the e-mail sounded and looked ok. I did scan it with Norton be for I opened it. I haven't had any problems with my computer yet.

I got 2 of them last night..

one from Tom and one from Charles..  i clicked the file and it said it was scanned and it was fine so i d/l it but my computer wouldnt let me open it..  Which it turns out it was a good thing..

I was bothered this morning when my radio station said watch out for this computer virus it says its asking for your advice.. i remembered i got one last night so i flipped out and checked my computer and it seems to be fine..

Only reason why i opened it was because i know Tom's email.. and charles asked me about my steps last night as well so i just figured they were sending me something..

Hope this tricky virus didnt take victims on the GM-T board!!  I ve got one before and it really bites to get them!!

Yep, I got two a couple days ago, before I had even heard about it.  I didn't recognize the senders name/address, and the attachment file name was suspicious, and the grammar on the short message was questionable, so I didn't open the attachment.  I figured I would hear about it sooner or later, now I know.

Hey Chev4Ever,

 Sorry about that.  I down loaded the file that is supposed to fix the virus. After I ran it it says it was unsuccessfull. I thought maybe I didn't have the virus to start with. I did a system restore. I don't know if that got rid of it or not. What I don't understand is why Norton didn't find any virus when I scaned the e-mails I got. I update it every week.

No need to apologize Charles.. It wasnt anyones fault..  I just wish people had better things to do with there time like try to wreck our fun..

i downloaded the virus as well but again nothing happened... So does that mean everyone on my address book may have gotten one of those messages from me then???

It's possible if you opened one of the attachments.  I know it sent stuff out from mine, but I havn't heard from anyone that actually got the virus.  Some have received it, but scanned and deleted it.  I sure hope no one else got it, especially from me.
