Air Deflector

For those of you who have removed the air deflector (air dam). What's the trick to getting the clips apart? I tried one and am afraid of cracking the bottom of the bumper cap. Why can't it just screw on and make it easy?? This is for a GMT900 Silverado.

Remove the two screws (one at either end) and press the air deflector out from the backside. You don't have to pry the clips apart.

Or you could drive through deep snow and have it rip off the front of your truck like what happened to mine.

If you watch the commercial, it looks like the deflector is getting torn off in the deep snow there too. I added one back to my truck when I first got it because it had been torn off by the previous owner.

Why did you put one back on?

So climb underneath, and push forward from back to front?

you don't even have to climb underneath, just take off the screw on each end and reach under and grab it and pull. it will pop right off

Hate to call anyone a liar but man, I just tried and mine will not come off.

I removed the two 10mm screws at the end and pulled on it but it will not give.

Sometimes seperating plastic pieces on vehicles requires forceful pulling, I know you don't want to damage it, I removed mine, no problem, look at how its clipped in after removing the bolts. It will come off.

You must be a bit of a wuss if you can't get yours off, while a 66-year old had no problem. Want Gramps to come over and do it for you?

HAHA!

Look... Get under your truck and look at the way the air dam is held on. Use some of that common sense of yours along with a flathead screwdriver and take it off. Easy.
