Good Place To Buy Transmissions (4l65e)

I'd like to buy a new 4L65E or a strong rebuild 4L60E to handle the increase of HP in my 2003 Avalanche Z71.

The new transmission must handle 441 hp and 503 lb/ft max.

Since i live in Europe, i need some advise about where to buy in the states.

Thanks :D

Didn't you already have a thread about this? There are many places available here. Google is your friend! Good luck and let's see some pics of the Blown Avy when you're done!

Check out FLT Transmissions. They are based out of Illinois.

I have an equivalent to a level 7. I ordered over it over 3 years ago when the top one they offered was a level 5, but i opted for the 300M shafts which is now a level 7. It's never missed a beat since i installed it and i'm not easy on it at all. I'm also pushing over 500RWHP (dyno tested) with a 6" lift and 35" tires. good stuff!

FLT is the way to go.

on a 2000 model we messed around with local builders that were supposed to be "the best" and no one could build one to hold up.

like the above poster we installed their top tier transmission at the time (it was a level 5 back then also) and it held up great to lots of abuse. It was installed behind a 6.0L cammed/stalled/ headers blah blah blah... it was a 2000 model regular cab 4X4 and ran 12.8 in the 1/4 mile... never dyno'd, it was built for the street and numbers don't matter, winning did.

we asked the builder about break-in of the transmission, we were told to take the truck off the jack stands, make sure the fluid level was right, bring it to the street and pull a 4wd burnout lol.... we did :P

Transmission gave great service for several years until the transmission cooler line rubbed one time too many on the headers and the line sprung a leak burning the truck to the ground, the the transmissions fault - but just FYI, those cooler lines rubbing a header will eventually leak
