Solid Axel Swap

I was just day dreaming the other day, and I was wondering if anyone was doing any solid axel swaps into the front of their trucks. I know a few people do it in the magazines, but those are usually overbuilt, pampered show trucks that were built with nearly unlimited budgets. I was wondering if anyone has done it on a real world budget.

Is there a company out there that makes SAS kits for the 800 family of trucks?

Its not like I would ever do this because I dont have the time, money, tools, space, or spare truck to drive while mine is under the knife. These are just some ideas and questions that I had bouncing aroundin my head.

Over at ZR2USA.com, the SAS is pretty much the holy grail of offroad mods, but I dont see a whole lot of it around here. I guess most guys around here dont wheel their trucks like the S10 crowd does.

I know Im not gonna push the limits of my IFS, but like you said, it would be BA to have a SFA.

Now that my 36 month/36000 mile warranty is up, I am looking into it more. I already grenaded my front diff once. It will take a lot of fab as a new steering box needs to be added. Once past that, it will be a little smoother sailing. Not sure if any kits are made for it, and don't really want to pioneer it, but I have a good friend with some serious skills. We have been discussing it. My plan is a D60/14 bolt combo, beef the trans, and run 37's. Time and money will tell...

Be sure to document the build if it ever comes to fruition.
