How Long Does It Take For A Computer To Re-learn?

I've been advisied that the on board computer needs to re-learn new settings and "stuff" after making a modification. My questions are about how long does it take? Is it a matter of time with normal driving practices. Cold vs. warm engine start ups, how many? Or what

I've always been told a couple hundred miles :( I believe you can make it faster if you disconnect neg side of the battery for a few minutes to "reset" the PCM.

What is the modification? Lots of the common bolt on mods don't really gain a whole lot of power so maybe you just have your hopes set a bit too high.

I think hes talking about the torque relearn after getting a tune...

If thats the case it ususally requires a certain driving style / certain mph , etc for so many miles.... Or you can have someone hook up a tech 2 (i think it is ) and they just WOT it once and it learns it .. Thats what i did... Worked great.

The mod is the addition of a super charger. The set up came with a "new" pcm set up for the S/C.

Did you ever get around to putting this on?

the "re-learn" is a continuous process. it never stops occurring.

think of it like this: if your truck has a DIC and you look at the Avg Fuel Economy, it changes really easily after it's been reset, but if you have a few thousand miles it takes more effort to change the numbers much. Same thing with your truck, it's search for averages, after a few hundred miles it'll be settled in and most changes are set.
