Airaid Intake Tube

i know that thease tubes are beat to death on topics all around, but i thought you all might want to know that you can order these though auto zone. i wanted to check around before i ordered online, and they can order airaid products. bring them the part number though, they don't have a very good system to look up parts like this. when i told the kid just the intake tube he looked at me like i was stupid and said you cant get the tube by itself. so i came back an hour later with the part number, he typed it in, and it showed a picture of just an intake tube. (i love the feeling you get in those situations, don't you?) the price was within a dollar of the price on auto anything, but you have to pay tax on it. i ordered the tube today(wednesday) and it will be in on friday. have to prepay for it, but that is no surprise. i thought maybe i would save some of you guys some agonizing days waiting on a box.

it comes in two days after you order it, and if there is any kind of mixup and they send the wrong part or if there is shipping damage or anything like that, they just give you your money back and you dont have to mess with contacting the company and shipping it back and bla bla bla. it is worth it to me to pay the seven dollars tax and it be that more convenient. but maybe im the only one in the entire world that sees things like that, im not sure

Well, either pay tax or pay shipping. Either way its a wash most times.

nah auto anything was free shipping, but im willing to bet that it would not have been on my doorstep in two days. plus i just walk in and they rang me up and payed right there, much less of a hassle than paying online IMO. plus i got a rewards card, and 20 bucks free every now and then is pretty nice

well i got my tube on friday, no hassle, and installed it behind the shop at work friday evening. this thing took FOREVER to install, next time i am reading the directions! i mean, that was like 10 minutes of my life i will never get back :D the sound was exactly what i was expecting, and i love it. as far as performance or mileage, it has only been on there 50 miles. we will see how it adjusts.

i dont figure, but everybody makes claims twenty four seven, so we will see what happens. the only thing i thought might help is getting rid of the baffles, one that hugs the top of the motor, and one that extends next to the radiator.... could be heating things up a little. the new tube does look less restrictive, even though im sure that would matter if it was feeding a 502 , not a 5.3 :D
