Installed Bedrug, Bakflip F1 And Bakbox

I had a fun day. I took out the crappy stock plastic bedliner and installed a BedRug. I also installed a BakFlip F1 as well as a BakBox.

The BakBox is pretty damn cool. It's a folding toolbox. Perfect for my really short bed, it's only 5.8' long.

While installing, I found that the BakBox didn't fit, it was a bit over a inch too wide. Rather than hassling with sending it back to the store (autoanything.com), and waiting for a replacement I simply trimmed the boards and it works perfectly.

That looks good. I hadn't heard of the bed rug before. I have an '11 on order and didn't want the platic liner that I have in my '01 right now. Too hard on the knees.

I was looking at line-x but I think I'll be ordering a bed rug instead.

How do you like the bak flip? I need a tonneau cover too but was looking at a rollup version for increased security. I wasn't sure how secure the bakflip is?

Looks great! I am looking at the bakflip as well and was wondering what people that had actually bought it thought of it's fit, functionality, etc. I just picked up an '07 silverado and would like the benefits of the tonneau cover for trips, etc. but also need full access to the bed for installs for my company. I'm interested in seeing what you think of it once you've used it for a little while.

Looks nice. Does the Bakflip F1 have drain tubes? I don't see any in your pics. If not, it must be a new/improved design feature from my Bakflip.

It seems pretty damn secure. It'd take a crowbar to pop it out (a crowbar can pop out any kind of tonneau).

Looks good, this is the set up I am looking at, how stiff is the F1? The G2 I saw seemed to flex a fair amount

I'm not sure what you mean by how "stiff" it was. Can you elaborate more, please?

I definitely will post updates if any issues come up.

I priced a bedrug and about fell out.Did you find a good deal on one are just got it?

Well, then don't price a BakFlip F1 and BakBox, you will have a heart attack. I got the bedrug from eBay for $340 with free shipping. That is cheaper than a spray-in liner and looks classier.

Yes, it has the drain tubes and I did install it. I tucked it behind the carpet :) Invisible. Drain tubes are routed to the holes that are located at the bed stakes closest to the cab.

looks great. I just had a rhino liner and G2 installed on mine. I like them. The hidden drain tubes is really nice. I've been trying to figure out how to Hide mine.

Question: The rubber edges on my G2 are a little wrinkled up on mine right now. The installer told me they will lay down with some sun. They haven't yet but the most heat they have had is just in the heated garage. Did yours come out of the box wrinkled or did you have a similar experience?

Charlie,

I don't know about the F1, but my G2's rubber edges were a little wrinked too after I installed it. After a day or two in the sun, they layed flat and have never wrinkled again.

I mean when there is weight on the top of it does it sag down, can you fold it partially and sit on it without it sinking down

I have the G2 BakFlip and really like it for the most part. The pros are the strength of the panels, easy to operate and provides a more secure cover than fabric covers when you lock the tail gate. I like the low-profile/flush appearance when closed.

The major con is that there is no system to secure the panels if you want to just flip back one or two. The wind will catch them and flip them back. I use bungee cords to hold them in place, but it seems some type of integrated system is needed.

I paid $569.00 shipped back in June 2009. I would definitely recommend the G2 BakFlip.

Just ordered Bak Flip F1, Bak Box, and EZ Tailgate hydraulic piston for '07 Silverado Crew Cab from TruckCustomizers.com...Best price I could find. Video is pretty simple install...chose this over the roll up because I like the rear window protection over taking up 10-12" of the bed for the housing for the coiled up tonneau (I do dig the remote control roll up version)...plus, that is where the bak box is going! :-) Plus, this seems like an easier solution in the event I need to remove it for whatever reason. Hope my box comes fabricated correctly...I do have a new chain saw to test it if not....hmmmm! Also grabbed a d-ring adapter for the rear hitch and a recovery strap...have some neighbors I could have rescued this past winter...next year I will be everyone's hero for five minutes and then they will forget my name!

Question: Someone on here has a tonneau and two bike racks, one each bed rail...who is that and what bike racks did he use? I like that mod and plan to copy the helll out of it!
