pretty soon im going to be getting some different wheels for my truck. rite not i have the factory 18" i want the new ones to be 17" but after that im lost. what should i do for a width and offset. the biggest tire that i will put on will be a 285. which will work on stock wheels so i would think i should get the same width as stock wheels rite?? as for offset. i do not want them sticking out any more than stock. i just dont know what stock wheel width is and i have no clue about offset

any suggestions as to what i need to get?

You will find that any tire store will be able to tell you what wheels will fit. You select wheels you like and they will tell you if they are available

in the size/offset you need. If you want to do a bit of research, tire rack will show what bolt circle and back spacing is for the truck, as well as showing wheels available.

I'll trade you straight up for the stock 17" that came on my 2010 Sierra. You know they will be the correct offset and width.
