Ok, just picked up a new-to-me 07 SLT and the clowns put on THREE tramp stamps, and a full width banner on the back window :(

Normally I wouldn't mind that much but this was the worst dealer I've ever dealt with, quite frankly I'm embarrased I gave them my buisness, I wouldn't send my worst enemy back there. Their just lucky they were the only ones with a truck with the options/color/mileage I wanted.

Anyways... Any advide for removing them? There just the standard machine cut vinyl. The ones on the paint im not worried about, I've done tons of those with a heat gun before. Its the one on the glass I'm wondering about. Its still below freezing up here so I'm scared to go near the glass with the heat gun. (CRACK)

Use a razor blade and scrape it off. It should just peel off in the cold.

get a razor blade scraper and some goo gone for the sticky residue left on..i HATE dealer advertising, whenever i buy a truck or anything i say take your stickers off or you have to pay me for advertising

Take it in somewhere warm, use a hair drier (don't heat to much or the tempered glass will explode)

and start on a corner of the vinyl and you should be able to just pull it off. If you use a razor blade

make sure it is new and use glass cleaner as a lubricant as you can leave hairline scratches on the glass.

Any idea on how to get the ones off the paint? I have one on the tailgate and isn't a vinyl type decal I don't know the material but each letter is its own piece.

I always use a heat gun to warm em up and then just peel them off. Though I have heard a hair dryer works as well like PGDriver suggested. Then either use some goo gone or wash it a few times and your decals and the adhesive is gone.

For the windows you want a razor blade held at a very low angle and a glass cleaner like Windex. The Windex acts as a lubricant to keep the blade from scratching the glass.

Sadly, this thread is not about what I thought it was going to be about. :(

Just happy I wasn't the only one thinking that.

If the vinyl was put on relatively recently you shouldn't even need a razor, you can get it off just fine by peeling it. Park the truck in the sun and let the sun beat down on the window for a couple hours, that helps a bit but I don't know how much it can do in the cold.

Eventually you learn to tell them not to bother with them. We dont have to have front plates here but some dealers drill them on and put dealer logo plates on the front.
