I'm really thinking of orders a blackbear autocal here soon for my 2009 5.3L i was just wondering what tunes did you guys get? i was thinking of getting 87octane performance tune and a 91 octane performance tune. i would also get a performance tranny tune with most if not all the the torque managment removed and a tranny tune for towing, winter and everyday driving with more torque managment left in. also does anybody have any hp and Tq gain numbers for there tuners? i know each truck is different I'm just curious. Thanks

Just had the BB tune done with the autocal about two weeks ago. Had the truck tuned for 93 octane and almost all tm removed. I left the t/h factory, shut off the afm, and lost the speed limiter. There is a huge difference with the tune, I highly recommend it. Process was simple and Justin was great with any and all questions.

I got the autocal also and got a 93 Octane Performance Tune, sport trans tune, towing tune, and recently got a 87 Octane tune because of these Gas prices :P

But the 93 Tune is awesome. The 87 still has some get up and go but can definitely tell the difference between the 87 and 93. I also had the AFM turned off, limiter removed (not sure why I aint going over 100 with my set up) and adjusted for gears and tires.

I've got his 89 octane tune with most of the TM off and T/H mode has all the TM off since I don't tow much besides a small utility trailer. Would have liked to go with the 93 tune, but the way gas is going now I'm glad I didn't. Still no complaints about an 89 octane tune at all. Night and day difference and Blackbear is the best deal out there for HP per $ and also Justin is great to deal with.

I seem to be one of the few who have shared a back to back torque curve for my truck with and without a tune. I have the 93 octane tune that I run daily and couldn't be happier with the power and the transmission adjustments which justin has made. Back to the dyno stuff though...my truck gained a maximum of 11 hp at 4700 rpm and 12.8 lb-ft at 4050. Average power between 2750rpm and 5500rpm grew from 208 to 216 and average torque grew from 265 to 275. Not bad considering stock peaked at 277.

I have a 91 octane tune and a E85 tune. Have both a tow and performance tranny tune. I switced to my performance tranny tune today(no TM) and forgot how big of a difference it makes, truck is much quicker now!
