SPRAY IN LINERS

Hey... What is your opinion of the many spray in liners out there? I live in Texas and I have seen a LOT of them really faded and chalky looking. Is this the norm? Do they cut down on noise at all? I have always used the trusty Pendaliners and had no problem with them... Your opinions are welcomed!

They are garbage if you plan on using your truck....they will last a couple of years decently then fall apart..my dad's 2000 GMC shop truck has had four Rhino's in its life, the 2001 Chevrolet has had two and needs another...My 1500 had a Permatex which is a Rhino knock off and it's falling apart...My HD has a good old drop in with a rubber mat under it...I can drop things in the bed all day long and not have a dent..except the inner fenders but that always happens..

IMO....Spray ins stink !  Drop a few bricks in them...

what do ya got ? dents etc......  My bud bought a

new Chevv. last year when I did.  I got a drop in.

He got a spray on!   It already looks like krap and

is peeling off in spots and his bed is dented too.

People say drop ins cause rust and paint rubbing.

We both WORK our rigs too...Hauling, towing, and

snowplowing.  Me I want a drop in !.........geo

I have a spray-in and absolutely love it!  No major problems with mine, and I've had it for 2 years.  Some of the spray-in companies have lifetime warranties.

after watching what years of use did to my grandfathers bed with a drop in.. I wouldn't even let one near me.

 

Line-x is the best imo, and can come in colors (speedliner does now to)  plus line-x and speedliner reseal themselves if there is any cuts in it.

 

We've loaded tons upon tons of gravel and coal in one of our work trucks with line-x and it has never faded or beat up. It shines as good today as it did in the beginning

I would like a LineX with the paintable to match spray in. they make them to match the color of your truck. I believe they are lifetime warranty too. Can't go wrong with the warantee. I have a drop in and have 3 holes in it. Not protecting my bed very much that way and it's only 1/5 years old. Plus the drop ins slide around, thus rubbing your paint underneath, in time causing it too rust. A spray in is gauranteed not to rust out your bed. My opinion, go with  the spray in, but buy quality, not a Rhino, buy a LineX or something with a warranty.

Yes they do.  Proof is out in the driveway.  

 

I have thrown shovels, sledge hammers, etc in the bed of my truck (with a rhino liner) and i have yet to get a dent or tear up the liner

god must have been smiling on you...I've yet to see a Rhino Liner hold up to an kind of "real" abuse....real is commercial use using it everyday not just throwing mulch in the back for a weekend project...that's just my $0.02 I beat my truck hard and it seems that the drop in's protect your bed better...as for the rust I haven't had a problem..I guess the same rubbing that takes the paint off keeps the rust off...lol see it's a win win situation..

paint rubbing off plus 4-5 months of salt will eat your truck bed alive

 

if you are going to use your truck for commercial use why not get an industrial truck bed/dump body?

I have a Line-X  and am very pleased with it.  I have hauled white rock, mulch , scrap metal and tons of other things with no damage whatsoever.  Best of all it hoses off clean and looks like new.  I would definitely recommend the Line -X.  They used to offer an internet coupon when I got mine done for 25 bucks off too :thumb:

I've got a spray in and it kicks ass. It has faded a little bit though which I don't like.

It really depends on what you use it for.

 

For 75% of users, they are the best thing since sliced bread.

 

For 23% of users that use their trucks heavily, they are OK, you will see some wear, but most are lifetime guarantee.

 

For the 2% that really commercially abuse their truck, no matter what you do, you are going to destroy your bed.  You really should look into what Ryan recommended.

Love mine, haul whatever with no worries.  No damage and no scratches.  Stays pretty clean and looks good too.
