Still thinking on it..that's why I said "right know"! Going over options is half the fun when buying a new truck! Has anyone lined up a NHT and Z71 side by side for a comparison? Anyone driven both? I would think that the 6 speed would help limit the differences!

I assume that the OP is looking at LTZ's because that is what you posted the prices for, here. The 6.2l was a $2020 option on my LT packaged truck.

My 07 NHT came with 4.10s. I guess you cant get 4.10 anymore.

Yes, thats because it comes with the 4-speed. My previous truck was a Vmax with the NHT and 4.10 gears

How is it that Toyota runs up to a 4.30 gear with their 6 speed trucks? Do they just use a higher gearing in their tranny's?

There is a vidya of a 3:73 truck vs a 3:42 truck over on another board, I'd post it but I think thats a no-no. PM me and I'll shoot you the link, pretty close, but the 3:73 truck pulls him pretty good.

z71= a decal, skid plates and shocks...i'd take the lower rear end ratio and call it a day, z71 is no where near an offroad package really its more of a "hey i got a badass offroad truck because its a z71" in reality its the same as any other 4x4

I don't even think it's that anymore. Its more of an appearance package than an offroad package. Full front color match fascia.

Steven, there are two Z-71 packages...The appearance package, and the "sticker" package.

 

The appearance package give youthe body colored stuff, bigger sticker, ranchos and special instrument cluster & G80

 

The sticker package give you the skid plates, stickers and high capacity air cleaner,off road jounce bumpers, shocks and G80
