Donegal Insurance For Home And Auto

I know that quite a few people on here are home owners and we all obviously have auto insurance and there are even a few independent insurance people on here as well.

 

We are in the process of buying our first home and we had our insurance agent get us some quotes on Home Owners Insurance. He came back saying that Donegal Insurance is going to our best bet. The next cheapest option was Travelers and there were $325 more expensive.

 

Has anybody ever heard of Donegal Insurance or anybody have either their Home or Autos insured through them? How are they? My agent said that they have been in business for a really long time and has used them many times. He said that they are not a company like Allstate where they cover the entire US but that they do most of their business in the East and SouthEast.

 

I was hoping to keep Travelers for Home Owners Insurance since that is who I currently have for my truck and I was impressed with how they handled the incident when my wheels were stolen but they were quite a bit more expensive.

 

We are going to go through more numbers on Monday on how much of a discount we can get with Donegal if we insure both our vehicles through them along with the house or if it would be cheaper to go through two separate insurance companies for Home and Auto.
