Hoping To Buy A Dmax

Recommended Posts

Posted

Im thinking about trading in my 1500 sierra for a 2500 Dmax. Ive been working on my fathers 6.5l tahoe lately but this will be my first diesel. I want to get 07+ with less then 50k miles. I will be financing with a dealer and was hoping to find one for 30-35k.

Is there anything i need to look out for when shopping around? I hope to get something that is GM certified but are there any big things i can check out when its at the dealership so see how its been treated.

Any advice or thoughts are appreciated.

If you buy one not certified, make absolutly certain it has never had a programmer on it. Even if you have to have it checked with a Tech ll.

I agree. If there was ever a programmer on it that raises the chance it had the snot ran out of it. Thats based on the people I know around here though so that may not be the case with everyone.

Also if any powertrain issues come up, GM can tell if a programmer has been used and possibly deny warrenty coverage.

It's going to be hard finding one with less than 50,000 miles and that's at a good price, give carmax a try. One of my friends dad bought a d max dually and his son bought another d max from them and so far they love them

my dream was always to have a dmax but its just not worth it anymore unless your towing all day every daying...gas engines last just as long if maintained with half the price of maintaince compared to diesels...let alone factor in repair bills

I live in the Kansas City area and am looking for a 2500. There are several 3500 duallies within 250 miles so you might find some. Check Pickuptruck.com
