Goodyear Gatorback Serpentine Belt

Does Goodyear make a gatorback serpentine belt for the GMT900 trucks? I was looking online for them and can't find any.

There should not be a real "advantage". Goodyear, Gates, and Dayco all make good belts for everyday use. GM OEM belts are made by contract suppliers so they could be from any of the manufacturers.

I've used Gatorbacks for a while now and they seem to last a little longer than OEM and Napa belts and I've never had any of them squeak either. That's the only reason I like them.

When I got one for my 2000 I got it at Murray's/ They are no longer. Check O"reilly or advanced auto?

Curious as to why you want to change yours on a 2008 unless you have over 100000 miles. The serpentine belts last well over 125000 miles.

125,000 miles? I've never had a belt last anywhere near that. Once they start cracking I replace them. Cheap maintenance and piece of mind, IMO. I put a Napa one on my 2001 2 years ago and it's already starting to get some cracks on the outside of it. I usually change my belts and filters every couple of years regardless of what it looks like. I might be overdoing it, but oh well. Makes me feel better.

I put a prestone belt on to replace my stock one when i bought my truck , it only lasted about 2 years/50 000 kms before it was cracked quite bad. Put a Napa one on this time, wanted a Gatorback, but Napa didnt have one at the time.

The cracking on the inside of the belt has no effect on reliability. Many people including myself have gone over 100000 mi without failure.

I'm talking about cracking on the outside of the belt.

Today's serpentine EPDM belts are designed for 100k lifespans. Stay with Gates or Goodyear and you shouldn't have cracking on the backside of the belt. We get long life out of belts on our work trucks and they are operating under some pretty harsh conditions

Ever tried a Green Back Gates?...... And hear about the Goodyear Gaterback all the time...

NAPA has three primary lines of belts. PBH (Cheeper, I would not install it on the mother-in-laws car) and two NBH; Regular and the green back, the green back is a heavy duty back much like the Goodyear Gaterback. When comparing things you should always compare apples to apples. Gaterback is there heavy duty belt so compare the Gates Green Back Heavy Duty belt. Take the regular NBH number such as 25-040378 and just stick a HD behind it like 25-040378HD.

But to my knowledge nobody has a "heavy duty" Stretch Fit Belt. If that is what your truck has, which it probably does.
