Dealer Found Me a 6.2!!!

Well I took my truck down this morning to get the Transmission work done. I got to talking to my Salesman about looking for a 6.2 Silverado, and he got on the Dealer Network, and found me the only one the way I want it. It's a 2011 Ext Cab with the Max Trailering Package in Blue Granite Metallic. I really wanted the Z71 Package, but it has everything else Im looking for except that. It has everything my truck has, and more. I have a few questions though for you guys that have one. Does it come with Skid Plates since it's not a Z71, and does it ride any worse than one without the Max Trailering Package? Not deal breakers for me, but I am curious about it?

In my opinion the ride is awesome. It does not have skid plates but they can be added for $100.

Hmmm Really? How do I get that taken care of? Ask the Salesman?

I really like the blue granite (same color as my Sierra), but you're current truck is sharp. How much do you like the white vs blue... 'cause that's what you're going to see most of the time. I wouldn't trade unless it's exactly what you want, especially not just to get to 60 by 1 second quicker.

Hell one second is one second. That motor has potential, good tune brings out the best of them motors, a few aftermarket mods and your flyin.

Yeah the dealers parts people could get it for you

I didn't add it to mine, I'm not off road enough to justify it.

My trucks been a Piece of Crap the last few months (Thats putting it lightly). The AFM is Trash, and so is the 4 Speed Trans (IMO). I like either color the same. Theres no downside to trading it for me besides the Wheels, but that can easily be fixed. Z71 is no big deal because anymore all it is, is just a sticker.

Oh Ok. I am because where I go hauling the Four Wheelers so it would be a good investment for me.

I am glad my old truck had skid plates. I had a semi blow a tire and the schrapnel flew under my truck and I heard a large boom! Got home looked under the truck and had a huge black rubber mark on the main skid plate. If it wasnt there no telling what damage I would have had.

I would trade it right away before the 6.2 is gone. It is not only an engine upgrade, you also get the 6 speed tranny. Big difference from what you are used to with the 4 speed. The skid plates are worth the money IMO, even if you don't plan on needing them. It will give you more protection just driving on paved roads every day. The skid plates installed should be no more than $150.00.

When you picking it up :dunno:

Not sure yet. I told them to go ahead, and get it to the dealership so I can look her over and play with her :D I'm going down today to pick my truck up, and Sunday I'm taking off everything I put on it. Will my GM Performance CAI work on the 6.2 also? I'm pretty sure it will, but I wanted to double check. Oh and Steven I'm curious what mileage are you getting out of yours?

Your GM performance intake won't fit. The MAF sensor is built into the tube and yours isn't. I had the same issue with my Vmax. I gave a good friend a real deal on the intake. I get a SOLID 13-14mpg around town and 17mpg on the highway. I've not taken any trips with the truck yet so 17's been the best on the small trip I did take with the truck.
