Best Buy Rant...

So back on 12/15 my parents and I were trying to find the best deal for a camera for my sister for christmas.. Found the Canon powershot SX150 for 167.99 on best buy with free shipping! That was a great deal seeying as everywhere else wanted 179 +... Even amazon...

Anyway, the best part was it was delivery by christmas guarantee!

So i get the tracking # yesterday, look it up and it shows deliv. date 12/27 madshoot.gif WTF

So i check the BB website and it says if we do not deliver by christmas you get a gift card of $20.

So i just call up the towelhead , or whoever she was. Could barely understand a word she was saying!

I explain that there is the deliv guarantee. She says "let me check that for you" comes back to the phone "Sir, i see it is scheduled for deliv 12/27" I said yes and it is guaranteed for deliv by 12/25.. She goes "Well what do you want me to do about it". I swear to god it took all my energy not to scream at this bitch.

So i said according to the website i get a gift card if its not here in time. She went to get authorization... came back 25 min. later and said ill have an email in 24-72hrs.. All this took 55min.!

This will be the LAST time i buy anything from bestbuy unless i have it in my hands in the store and its a better deal than i can get online!

I would have just bought it in the store if i would have know they were going to screw us over like this and not ship it faster than camel back.

But why not take advantage of free shipping?? Save gas, avoid the crowds ....

Anyway rant over

Not to add salt to your wound, but I use this site for checking prices. Best Prices

I DO NOT always buy from the lowest, I like to buy from someone I have dealt with and know I will receive the item. But you can find it cheaper then Best Buy.

I don't like some of BB's policy's.

Well, The shipping by christmas guarantee sold us.. and at the time it was cheaper than ebay/ amazon, etc..

Plus it came with a free camera case and 4gb memory card (yes it is small but enough to get her started)..

So those freebies made it cheapest. Also i go on google shopping which finds the cheapest prices.

Man, I'd be fried too. I feel your pain. I don't think there's a person alive that hasn't had some sort of issue with best buy. I've had a few myself so I understand. Well, you can print out a picture of the camera and give that to your sister and tell her it will be delivered the 27th :dunno:

Unfortunately thats the best you can do right now.

Maybe you will get lucky and get it before Christmas. I just had a couple things delivered early even after I had the tracking number. Hope for the best, good luck Hope it gets there for you!

I used to be a Circuit City fan when we had them here. Best Buy was just ridiculous with their return policy when I got a cd as a gift a number of years back. It was unopened and they said I could only exchange it for the exact same title...what's the point?

Why not just go to the store and buy the camera now? Refuse the delivery of the late one and get your refund.

We ordered a DVD on cyber Monday, got it last Friday, Best Buy's shipping sucks.

Price is like $30 more or so this week.

The point of this rant was more of a why promise a guarantee and then have attitude back when you call them out on it..

After all the person on the phone who i could barely understand a word of english with said "well what do you want me to do about it". Thats the point of the rant..

I don't do business with Best Buy anymore. They used to be a great place to shop but over the past 2-3 years they've gone downhill big time.

Man I'm sorry to hear that. Good news is she will still get it, and it COULD possibly still show up before Christmas. That does suck ass tho.

It seems customer service almost everywhere nowadays is going downhill or they are already down it. That's my biggest issue with anywhere. Everyone is lazy and just doesn't care anymore at some places.

    • Hi All, I’m In need of advice regarding a scan result on my 2023 Silverado HD.  Sensor Supply voltage relay states ON But…. the following 3 tests show Malfunction. Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit HIGH voltage Test status- Malfunction Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit LOW voltage Test status- Malfunction Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit OPEN test status - Malfunction. No DTC codes are stored. No DIC Lights. Remote Key Fob has been giving a few issues, namely Vehicle will not respond to an Open/Lock command from the key fob. New batteries installed to FOB made no difference, plus on one occasion recently the vehicle unlocked using the Fob, the vehicle started normally via the push button, then a random warning came up on the DIC stating the Remote Key was not found, all this while the key was located next to the central cup holders. Does anyone have any input or advice regarding this scenario? TIA
    • I agree, simplicity and reliability matter more as vehicles get more complicated. A V8 work truck option with fewer electronic features and a stronger warranty would definitely appeal to a lot of buyers who use their trucks for real work. Customizing it with trusted outfitters is often the best way to get exactly what you need
    • I’ve heard similar complaints from newer vehicles where the factory “premium” systems don’t always live up to expectations. A good installer should be able to improve the sound without turning it into a bass-heavy setup. I’d look into upgrading the front speakers, adding a quality DSP amplifier, and possibly improving sound deadening first—those changes usually make a much bigger difference than just adding a subwoofer. Hopefully someone local can recommend a reputable installer in the Las Vegas/St. George area.
    • Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.
    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
