GM definitely sells more vehicles domestically and globally but Ford sells more pickups in the US (I couldn't find a North American list, sorry). Global pickup sales is a different animal as fullsize trucks as we know them aren't typically sold outside North America.

I just want to know why everyone is still entertaining this guy. He signs up to a GM Truck forum, with the name nomoreGM4me, bashes what we drive, runs off at the lips about how horrible a product GM makes and you guys sit here and argue with him. I know I'm a neewbie here, but I bleed bowtie red. Always owned Chevy's, converted my whole family over to Chevy, sorry guys but this guy is making my blood boil.

Dude I'm sure u drive an Ecoboost, bring that bitch to my area, we'll run a whole series of tests, my truck vs ur truck(if u even own a truck that is) and after I beat you in everything, u can come back on here and use those flapping lips to apologize to my forum brothers for being a dick pickle!

Really? A stranger on the internet makes your blood boil? Why would you care what a total stranger thinks enough to actually get angry about it? Life is short, try to chill out a bit.

whatever buddy, who cares....if i payed as much as you did for a V6 with a little puffer on it it BETTER run a 13 sec qt :nopity: ... the fact is your truck will never be a fire breathing V8. which makes it very hard for most REAL men to like. #2 its a ford. #3 come up where i live, follow my truck around for a year, we will see how well the phrase "ford tough" plays out. i have a buddy that bought a eco-boost. they are plastic flexi-flyers, parts come flyin off prety easy. weak ass bumper, weak ass tail gate...plastic shit alllll over the truck. typical ford plastic rocketship. tranny already shifts like a brick. he already regrets it. quit trying to justify what you bought, fan boy.

the F-series does NOT sell more pickups than GM/Chevy combined. join a ford forum, bash chevies on there, good riddance......V6 ahahahahah

If you had read my posts, not only would you know I do not own an Ecoboost, you would know that I actually am not a fan of turbo V6's over a NA V8. I even stated if I were buying today, it would be a 5.0 F150.

I bet I am not only older than you, but I also have owned far more GM vehicles than you. ;)

Awww Boo Hoo the Government bailed out GM! Big Deal! Thats about the dumbest reason to not buy a vehicle if I ever heard one! The Government bailed out the banks too. Do you not get a loan from the bank because they were given Government money? I didn't think so. I highly doubt the rest of the morons out there that complain about GM getting bailout money don't either.

Where did I say the bailouts had anything to do with my refusal to buy GM products?

Did I say anything to you?

Models, Matchbox and Hotwheels dont count. One thing about the internet is that you can be anything and say anything behind a keyboard.

Agreed.

And the answer is: Nothing!

Evidence from a GM plantworker (from GMI):

GM has some of the most stringent controls you will ever find at ANY manufacturer and hundreds of things to be checked on every car. 99.9% of the time things go as planned.

You are dead wrong with that statement. My boss at GM Wentzville will do whatever it takes to keep the line moving. He doesn't give a rats ass about quality.

If managment doesn't care about quality so what. He can not force you to make junk or ignore quality checks, he can try but it will not work.

I have never heard a fellow union brother or sister from GM call a supervisor our boss, he is a supervisor.

My thoughts? Initial quality surveys/rankings are a joke. When I worked at the dealer there were always people coming in with complaints that just derived from their not understanding the technology in the vehicle. Not to mention that a reported issue could be anything from a simple broken switch to a blown engine. I don't know if the reported problems are weighted in terms of seriousness when they calculate the numbers but I do know that none of that info is provided in the results, just "problems per 100 vehicles" or something similar. So say a brand had 112 problems per 100, is that little crap like the broken switch or is there an engine issue?

    • Just did an injector/HPFP replacement on Pepper at 192,400 miles; close enough to 200K, RIGHT? (If 200K is considered life end and to me it isn't). But hey, to each his own.    Have never run a catch can on this vehicle. Back side of every valve looked like a new valve spray painted semigloss black. Port walls looked 'neat' (all a normal result of passive EGR via VVT) Zero build up even in AFM cylinders. Just color. It uses no measurable oil and never has.    At 155,000 I put her on E-85 and a borescope of the cylinders at plug change showed very clean pistons and valve faces. The replaced injector tips looked new. (It was the pump piston seal that was leaking). Oh well, have six good backups.    Still gets 28 mpg on gas (highway average) and over 20 (highway) on alky. UOA's look good and runs as good now as it did when I bought it. Better in fact.    What improvement would a Catch Can provide this motor?     And given all this I expect that IF I installed one I'd see some water/gas/oil vapor accumulation. Byproducts of normal combustion.   Having said that, IF my motor used an appreciable amount of oil I'd consider it a useful 'crutch' until I had the situation corrected OR if bore polished, until I junked it or rebuilt it to stave off repeated plug fouling.    I'm not telling you what I THINK. But what its DONE.
    • Love the look. I'm a SCSB lover myself.    Two items. 1.) A spacer changes scrub radius but this also changes when we use wheels of different offsets. A little isn't a big deal. 2.) Steel wheels, alloy wheels all have different thickness. Same effect on the stud and lug nut as a spacer. When hub centric the wheel isn't supported by the stud. It's supported by the hub. The stud just keeps it all together.
    • I had a evap sol go bad a couple weeks ago. . I replaced it.  While watching live data at the time I saw I had some cylinder 1 misfires. No MIL but on live data I could see ~50 at startup and about 70 more after an hour a drive all on cyl 1.  I also noticed that the LTFT were -5% to -15% always.  And that bank 2 is always -3% richer than bank 1. Even across all driving modes, city, highway, etc it’s always 3% richer than bank 1. So I start with the misfire. Swapped coil, plug, and plug wires from 1 to 3. No follow. I got an Injector reseal kit, pulled the D/s injector rail, swapped #1 and #3 injectors, resealed them, reinstalled and retested.  The misfire followed to 3. So I ordered and replaced all 8 injectors, spark plugs, and plug wires. Also replaced the 1 time use fuel pipes under the intake manifold.  Injectors that were in the truck since new were  Part # 12668390.  I replaced them with # 12742701 Got from RockAuto. Pretty certain they’re genuine and the correct ones. I called a friend at a parts store who told me “the 12742701 were the correct superseded part # for the originals I was replacing”. So started truck after replacing all that and it’s running -15 - -30 LTFTs. I reset the fuel trims with GDS2 and drove it for a 60 miles trip each way. There have been no changes in the LTFTs.  I checked if the HPFP was leaking into the crankcase. I removed the pvc and watched the trims. No difference.  I checked the alcohol content and it was at 10%  I’m out of ideas here. Truck seems to run great. Just always rich on the fuel trims.  Anyone with any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  I ran an injector balance test just for the heck of it and it came back this. I’m confused.  I have gds2 and some other diag tools if anyone knows of anything I should test next.
