Ahh I know this is splitting hairs but "unimproved roads" falls in the mud, snow, or sand categories...

It's the ones that literally just use these truck for around town driving that I can't comprehand. Again if that's what you want to drive & can afford it...go for it! No offense intended on anyone's opinions of a nice truck.

The dealer in my town sells the hell out of those, every other truck on the road has the same lift, tires, and rims. I do think they look good, but they also all look exactly the same.

lol you talking about the dealership on garners ferry rd by chance? I know they pull those lifted trucks with the same exact rim style every now and then out, sometimes in a diff color

Jud Kuhn Chevrolet in North Myrtle, they must have five trucks and a Tahoe or Suburban on their lot. My parents live in Lexington, so I do know where you're talking about though.

Oh sorry, its in columbia, close to ft jackson right off the highway.

As a former Alaskan where we use the heck out of 4x4 trucks, I'm mystified living in Houston where I see 4x4 trucks all the time. Can anyone explain to me why they would pay $50 grand for a 4x4 truck that most likely will never see mud, snow or sand?

I didn't pay quite that much, but it's probably because we can.

And I have no problem with the fact you can...I have my Avalanche, my 2010 Porsche Carrara and four Harley Road Kings...remember, this is America. My question was to if they ever see offroad use? Heck my Carrara never sees the track but I still have one...I just wonder if the 4x4s are like my Carrara?

I don't think so, but I haven't been to Columbia in about 7 months so it's possible.

I don't think I would ever pay that much for something like that since I could buy a new truck and set it up how I want for less but it would be tempting for the warranty part. I would have loved to been in it when I went home for lunch today. We got a bit of rain today and I turned down a side street with a little water on it (just enough to barely cover it). I soon found out as I made the turn onto the next street that the water got a lot deeper and fast. I didn't want to lose the forward momentum I had and risk stopping and backing up so I just kept going at a nice slow pace. Anyway, its a bit pricey and a bit much for me.
