New exhaust. Regretting it.

What does that do to the flow? Seems like it would cause turbulance, but then again, they say the stock intake tubes dont impede flow as much as people think.

They're usually installed on the side of the exhaust pipe away from the flow path, so do not have any affect on flow or tone of the exhaust.

^{My wife has a 2010 Dodge Challenger. I put a Solo Performance exhaust on it and it has those J tubes to stop the drone. They work, you get the full sound from an aggressive exhaust with out the drone and when it kicks in to 4 cylinders it doesnt sound bad. I put a Dynomax muffler and double walled GM tip on my 2010 Z71 and it sounds just like I wanted it. Just a little louder and deeper and very throaty when you stomp it. I have about $200 in it total.}

Look what these guys did to quieten down drone on their trucks. There is a solution if anyone wants to do it.

 

 

 

It might not be "cute", but it kills that drone around 68-72 mph.

 

 

with that setup you can tune it to remove the drone at certain rpm's by increasing/decreasing the tube lainth . the longer the pipe the higher in the rpm range the drone will be canceled out.. this is how GM addressed the drown issue on the 6.0L..

 

 

 

the stock muffler, (03 SS muffler) is not a true DI/DO muffler. the drivers side exit pipe is just a dead hole, works the same as above but looks a hole lot nicer..
