New exhaust. Regretting it.

i got my single side exit Corsa dB Series exhaust for $520 on amazon.com

i would rate it a 1.5 on the highway or when your not accelerating, a 3 at part throttle acceleration, and a 6 at wide open throttle

...I've listened to a ton of exhaust on YouTube, but we all know about how accurate that probably is. The Corsa sounds like a perfect fit, but I'd like to keep my budget around $650 or so. I'd never hear the end of it if I spent $1k on exhaust. I'd really like to hear some of these in person, but everyone around here thinks a cut-off after a Flowmaster is the way to go. I know a guy from a local dealership has the Magnaflow front side exit on his, but it'd be kind of weird for me just to show up and ask for a ride in his truck. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to locate a Corsa for a good price, or for that matter, any of the above discussed exhaust? As always, thanks for all the great input. It's very much appreciated.

I agree with the YouTube comments...it's almost impossible to get a good impression of the 'fullness' of the tone from those videos. Still, it's nice to see/hear those high-speed passes

I bought my parts (Magnaflow muffler and tips) from performancepeddler.com for a great price, and I had a local muffler shop custom-fab the pipes. They took their time and did a pretty good job, and I spent between $300-350 total on parts and labor. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that site carries Corsa, and it also looks like they've recently changed their website...it's not very easy to navigate. I'd recommend locating the parts you need elsewhere and then checking prices against Performance Peddler once you know your part numbers.

I've got the side-exit Banks Monster Exhaust on my truck and love it! It's got a throaty sound under throttle and I barely notice it crusing down the highway. IMO there is next to no drone when AFM kicks in and you won't even notice it if you have the radio on. Banks always runs some sort of special and I ended up getting it shipped for $415. Good luck in your search!

The dB is the same Corsa muffler with a lower grade stainless, different clamps and a different tip. $550 was much easier to spend than $1000+ for me as well, especially since I wasn't crazy about the twin exit tip Corsa uses on the single exhaust.

I've been very happy with it.

Get Corsa sport. It's a little louder than stock and actually quiter than I thought they would be. Corsa touring are supposed to be quiter than Corsa sport, so I would guess Corsa touring are very close to stock (until you step on it probably). The Corsa sport look really nice too. If you shop around they can be had for less than 900. I found my on Amazon.

Pay attention to these comments, if you buy the good one over the cheap one it will save you money in the long run. It seems like a lot of people try and go cheap and are sorry, next thing you know they spend more fixing the cheap crap then they would have in the good stuff.

I would generally agree, but there are always exceptions. The cat-back systems offered by the exhaust manufacturers weren't to my liking, so I bought good components and had a local shop custom bend the pipes for a lot less than some of the numbers I'm seeing here.

Regardless, there seem to be a number of users on here that are fans of the milder Corsa systems...maybe that'll help the OP.

My 1990 has custom bent exhaust with glasspacks, and has relatively no drone. Aiming out the back will drone less than side, unless you're pulling. I have a 14" Magnaflow on my 2006 with factory exit, but it's a round muffler, and it should really have an oval. So I'm thinking about getting a center enter/ top exit. Right now it just has a bent piece to fit. If I were you I'd just keep factory piping and get a new muffler. Sounds like that's what would fit for you best.

I had the 12599 magnaflow on my 06 2500HD it sounded great! very quiet while cruising but screamed when on the throttle!! got the muffler and tip from summit for 160 shipped to my door!

Corsa Sport, that's all you need to know. It will fit your needs exactly after reading what you wrote. This is my 4th Chevy with a Corsa & I will never use anything else. Also, on my very first truck I had a Gibson--GARBAGE!!!! My friend had a Magna-Flow, it was so obnoxious and loud, he wished he got the Corsa.

Btw, got my Corsa for somewhere around $750-775 shipped. I posted a thread about it a year ago in this section. Try to find it, I gave the link where I bought it.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Corsa and Corsa DB? I would almost go ahead and purchase the DB if it was pretty close to the Corsa touring. If I don't go that route, then I may take it to a muffler shop close to where I work and get a 24" Magnaflow (12289) and nice tip installed.

I'd rather have the whole cat-back that I could just install, but if the DB is louder than the Touring, then I may just bite the bullet and upgrade the muffler and a tip.

Btw, while I'm thinking about it, is the factory muffler a center/offset arrangement? I didn't get a good look at the stocker the other day, and if I order just a Magnaflow, I want to get the right thing so there's as little rigging as possible.
