2004 1500 P0101 shifting issue

Hi,

I have a 2004 1500 5.3L 4x4 SLE automatic trans. A P0101 code has been coming up lately but hasn't previously been affecting performance and I have just reset it. I just started noticing that when starting off it revs high (>3500 rpms) to shift from 1st to 2nd, then shifts quickly to 3rd. Could this be related to the MAF sensor? If so where do you recommend going with it from there? Simply cleaning it, checking for excessive damage, put a voltmeter on it, or replace it?

Thanks!

clean it carfully, with sensor safe and a long Q-tip and break it to get a 45 deg angle to get the honeycomb side of the little sensors,

there is a bullitin for this saying its possible that the MAP sensor can cause this

i had the same code on a truck at work my apprentice was working on and it shifted like a POS ,,

he wouldnt listen to me and clean it ,,,

i had another truck i cleaned the MAF and it was a ROCKET after cleaning it ,

so do that .clear the code

both sides of little sensors CAREFULLY
