You would need the mileage and hour meter transferred yes. You can have that done prior to installation. Otherwise, it will plug straight in.

Another question, with the trans temp in the cluster and my truck obviously not having one would this cause any issue other than it will always read zero?

sotelectronics charges about $40-45 to reprogram the cluster with your current mileage/engine hours.

 

your tranny gauge will indeed work. the truck is prewired with it, just needs a cluster capable of reading the signal, which this cluster is capable.
