Chevy HD vs Ford HD

Chevy has their vids, ford has their vids, and dodge has their vids, funny thing how when either one company does these tests the company who does them ends up winning the tests, that's why I don't care much for these.

Good point. I figure they are mostly for fanboys. I didn't expect the tailgate dent though.

lets face it, all of the big three make darn good trucks. I know each has there plus and minus, but if anyone offered me a free one I would take any of them. But if I had to pay for it out of my own pocket, well i have made the choice. I am just saying all three trucks are good, and they all keep getting better. Just my 2 cents.

Well duh, of course a fully boxed frame is going to have more torsional rigidity. I wonder which one has more beam strength? I also would have liked to see this test when both were using the same frame design (C-channels).

Well Duh, then the test would have been the same in results, thats why Chevy stepped it up and boxed the frame. As far as beam strength? Well ummm wouldnt it be Chevy with the FULLY BOXED FRAME.

The video is worthless. There is no situation I could ever fathom where you'd put a wheel off the ground like that with a full load. The fact that Ford uses C-channel wouldn't really worry me any- all the big rigs use C-channel frames and they're designed to flex.

The test is just to show frame strength and not real life situations.

Fully boxed frames provide additional torsional rigidity, but not necessarily beam strength. If you knew anything about structural steel, you would understand where beam strength comes from.
