Chevy HD vs Ford HD

Really? I can't believe we're debating Chevy versus the F-word on a Chevy forum. My vote goes Chevy. One factor was that Edmunds and Consumer Reports showed the Chevy as the best truck to buy as a used 3/4 or 1 ton. This was primarily due to Ford's poor diesel engine durability in the past but history has a way of repeating itself and I really believe Chevy has better drivetrains overall. It doesnt help me personally that i absolutely love the appearance of my truck over the other makes out there. I thought this thread would talk about how and why these Chevy truck owners elevate and value their GM trucks.

I vote GM everytime because GM has always had the vehicle I needed and wanted. When I had my Sonoma and needed/wanted to upgrade to fullsize, no one had the right truck (configuration), price AND options that I was looking for except GM. Once I hit the GM lot I had only to look at 2 trucks before I found MY truck. I drove away happy with my decision and six years later...I still am!

Does this make me a fanboy? Maybe.

Do I give a toot sweet? Nope!

The video is worthless. There is no situation I could ever fathom where you'd put a wheel off the ground like that with a full load. The fact that Ford uses C-channel wouldn't really worry me any- all the big rigs use C-channel frames and they're designed to flex.

i gather you have never been off road in the woods to get cord wood or stone?

i have crossed a ditch or two, blown out culverts and some rock ledges that have mimicked that exact scenario and saw my f350 twist to the point were i thought the truck would be damaged , hence forcing me to take a diffarant route. to assume there is no sitiation like that might be a little short sighted.

cheers ~sea
