Terra Grapplers vs Trail Grapplers

So i'm having issues deciding what tires i want to get. I love the look of the Trail Grapplers, but because 95% of my driving is on road, the terra grapplers seem to make more sense. noise really isnt an issue to me becuase i already have a Flowmaster exhaust on it. anyone who has either set of these care to give their imput?

I'm interested too. These two are very likely to replace my stockers down the line as well. What kind of tread life are people getting?

love my terras. 6 years, ~70k miles and i still have them- they are getting close too being done though. great on road, decent off (mud), but not great. punctured once- took a two inch drywall screw straight into the tread. i didnt know it at first either. i heard a clicking while driving but didnt think anything of it (small pebbles get stuck in the tread all the time), but this one never went away so after a few days i checked it. went straight in- been plugged ever since. not noisy at all (i have an exhaust to though).

they do ride stiff though, 10 plies and an E load range will do that.

i think the 2500/3500 guys might have had different experiences with them though.

the trail grapplers do look sweet though and i'll probably get them next.

i do a ton of highway driving for work but my job also involves going off road to inspect fields so i run the trail grapplers. so far i have almost 25k miles on them and they are still well over half-tread. i rotate them every 5k miles when i get my oil changed. absolutely love them.

get the terra grapplers since your mainly on road. they're quieter, have more ride comfort, will last longer, and have better wet/dry performance than the trail grapplers. when you go go off road is it gravel, dirt, sand, or mud?

if you visit nittotire.com they show how each grappler tire compares to another.

^^This

I drove 20,000 miles a year on my last truck with Trail Grapplers and they wore great. When I traded the truck in they had over 15,000 on them and the dealer thought they were brand new. Not too shabby for a "mud tire". The trails are not as loud as everyone thinks and they look 10 times better than the terras.

do you think there is a big mpg difference between the two? i would assume since the trail grapplers are probably heavier that there is

They are heavy. My 285/65/18's were right at 70 lbs a tire if I remember right but I would tend to guess that Terra's aren't far behind.
