2500HD Hood on a 1500?

Hey All!

Now that I have leveled GMC Sierra 1500 truck I think it needs something more. I am looking to put a 2500 hood on it. Does anybody know if this will actually work? Im probably going to go to the dealership tomorrow and ask to pop the hood on a 2500 and get some measurements. Thanks in advance!

The center bump on the sierra 2500 does look good. I've wondered the same just out of curiousity.

Awesome! Theres a place about an hour away from me that has 49 of them for $300 a piece. The part number is 20863104 and GM parts direct sells them for $325. would love to find a grille but I am definitely going to do that hood when I can find some time to run up there. Thanks guys!

Well I just did a little checking and that is the part number for the 1500's So I'm guessing they're the same number? Think i'll call the guy back and see if he can go look at one for me.

EDIT: Ok, well i found a full 2500 Hood for $210, the other hoods were for 1500's . But now I'm getting a little worried that I will have to change the bumper? Im pretty sure that the little plastic piece on the top of the grille won't go back but I just want to remove the old hood, put a new one on and be done with it. I can't find anyone on here that did it so I just don't want to drive to get it and bring it back and find out it won't close or something. Any help will be appreciated!

Just found the thread. my god lotta lowered and beaner trucks over there IMO. so if i can read, you have to change out to grill as well as the hood to make it fit right. the 2500 bumper swap is optional? http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214115
