Emergency brake light on!!!

My emergency brake light is illuminated all the time. The reservoir is full. I have a appointment after the weekend. Is the truck safe to drive.

No. I just disconnected the Battery and the wire into the reservoir for 15 minutes. I also tried lifting the e brake pedal and wiggling it to see if it would get the light to go off. No luck

 

With the hood up I did hear a unusual hissing noise coming from the passenger side by the firewall but couldn't get it to happen again.

Could be a wheel speed sensor. happened to me twice..

Speed sensor should also trip the ABS light I'd think though.

yes mike ,ABS codes ALWAYS turns on both lights

 

to the OP,you forgot to put in the complaint WTF you are driving !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm driving a 2000 5.3 Sierra. This same thing happened about 6 years ago but I could wiggle the ebrake pedal and it would go off

Try to locate the switch on the parking brake ass and disconnec t the wire. If it was the parking brake causing it, light should go out,

Disconect the brake fluid level sensor, if the light goes out you atre going to need a master cylinder resevoir.
