I have an 04 silverado crew cab 1500 and I need to remove the bed. I see 4 bolts but I also see what looks like two rivets (one on each side of the bed) that go through the frame. Do I have to drill those out to lift the bed????

Gotcha.

You are probably aware but I just have to say/ask, you know your truck is not designed/intended for 5th wheel right?

No insult, just have to put that out there.

Going off topic a bit . I know my dad took off his bed on his 91 f250 easy just some bolts and its off . I think he said it took him about 30 mins the first time time he figure how to get it off the frame and he used a tractor. He did not mention anything about the fuel stuff or the lights but maybe that is just like part of the job he did not mention it . He had to replace the back fuel pump twice . Stupid back fuel pump does not seem to last more than a year or two in it . So he just said screw it and only uses the front one now.

You won't get the bed off without disconnecting the fuel filler neck and the lights.

Or I should say you can if you try hard enough but then you'll have a wrecked fuel tank and the rear electrical will be ruined too.
