New control arms

Stronger, they have grease zerks, and designed with different angles for lifted / level applications.

I wouldn't mind buying a set of them if they weren't so darn $$$! 800 bucks is a little steep IMO....

saw these poking around the other day. what would adding these do aside from the obvious of having stronger arms? more up or down travel?

Make me broke? lol

Wouldn't mind getting some but right now I'd have to take out a loan to do it. Pricey! Even the cheaper ones from Cognito that xGMCx found.

so for 500-800 bucks they better do something? what all could they possibly do?

If you get the cognito a arm kit along with their leveling kit, it allows for full suspension travel which is a little more than stock due to the longer shock body. Their arms also correct ball joint angles on mildly lifted suspensions. If you do a search on cognito on some other forums, you'll see how popular they are.

looked at how small and cheap the stock ones are today while washing my truck. might purchase the cognito ones

I'm pretty sure RCX is selling their control arms seperate from the kit now, and IIRC are around half of what the Cognito arms are. I run FTS control arms, but that's also because I had the FTS 4" kit before this lift. The arms will help ease some of the stress off the upper balljoint, but it's stil not an ideal set-up.

i'm looking to level my truck and visited the cognito website. it looks like they are selling the bilstein 5100 front adjustable and rear shocks that are not adjustable with their control arms. are control arms the only thing needed to properly level the truck without seeing any future problems?

No the control arms are only there to help ease upper ball joint angles and to allow for a little more room between the UCA and the droop stop on the frame.
