A red light in my 2005 Sierra flashes on the radio/cassette/CD player. There are no labels around to indicate what it means and I can find nothing in the owners manual. Does anyone know what this flashing red light indicates? I first noticed it tonight when familiarizing myself with the truck as I just bought it two days ago. The truck had been sitting for 24 hours since the last time it ran.

Security system for radio is on. Don't disconnect battery unless you know the code from the orginal owner that set the code.

No code on radios that new. Truck info is programmed to the radio and you can disconnect the battery to your hearts content and not lock it.

The LED can be disabled in the radio if it bothers you. On my 03 I thought it was only on if the truck was off but it's been a long time.

Thats the Theftloc warning light.

Check the owners manual for details........ as I can't remember if when flashing it means either the

Theftloc code (in the radio) is set or not.

If I remember correctly, radios are theftloc coded to the vin. If you were to replace it, it would require a tech 2 to reprogram a new factory radio.
