I have seen the Tough Country stuff at SEMA. Metal looked kind of thin

From looking at it, it looks like it would be pretty strong cause the main portion of the bumper is a 4" pipe. The diamond plate I'm sure is only but so thick. The Apache series is suppose to be one of the lightest bumpers in heavy duty bumpers. Still a hell of a lot stronger than the stock bumper i would think

The one my friend made for my truck is heavy as hell and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's saved my front end a couple times

I smacked a deer this morning. Split it in half with stomach contents and intestines in the middle of the road. As for my truck? Just a broken lower valence and fog light. Lifted truck saved me from calling insurance

Sucks but it's not the worst thing that could have happened. I could have nailed it dead on, airbags deploy, and insurance would total the truck out do to miles. That would probably make me cry lol

I would've never let my insurance know.

I didn't. It's only like $300 in damage and that's on the steep side. But supposedly I can claim it if it's under a certain amount and I don't pay a deductible and I get reimbursed for it. Not sure if it affects my rate though. It shouldn't considering it's nothing I could have avoided. I may also claim my other tow mirrors when that owl flew across the road and I smacked it lol

When I had my wreck in 08 that totaled a trailblazer my liability insurance went up to 1300 every 6 months. Its finally back to 60 or so a month now so as far as I'm concerned my insurance will hear nothing if I can avoid it

Drove to muffler shop. Realized I didn't have my wallet.

Drove home.

Drove to muffler shop. Got the GM Performance Parts/ Borla Sport installed, along with the GMPP exhaust tip.

Tested it on the way home. :D

Not sure if my aim is off or its the fact that these are cheap headlights I bought in a pinch because mine went out but I can't see anything!

If it were me i would probably go with the top ones, i like projectors and stuff but the after-market ones just generally look very cheap, even when they aren't.

I say 1 or 4(without the halos hooked up) I like projectors, but highly dislike the halo

I drove the hell out of my Silverado today! :D

From Phoenix to Prescott to the Grand Canyon, then down through Flagstaff to get back home.

Thank God that I didn't have a single issue! Maybe averaged 70 mph but didn't keep track of mpg's.

I like the first ones. Whichever you get, make sure they get aimed right. I thought about HIDs for my aux lights but I want them instantly.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
